Ann Vote grew up in Mankato and attended Minnesota State University where she earned her Social Studies Education degree. She went out on the job hunt and landed a position in rural Minnesota at Cedar Mountain Schools. While teaching history in the classroom, she met her future husband, a hog farmer from Iowa. They now raise their two children on an acreage outside of Morgan. Ann has a passion for education, the outdoors and food! After 12 years of teaching, Ann has decided to step out of her own classroom and change audiences from students to educators. She is excited to collaborate with teachers in Southern Minnesota to provide their students with quality, hands-on curriculum that will increase their Ag Literacy and connect them to the people, animals and food in their own backyards.

Sweet Treats with Wheat, Honey & Sugar Beet Sugar

Regional Curriculum Specialist, Ann Vote, and her lovely Baking Assistant, Ella Vote, share a sweet treat recipe with us for Chocolate Chunk Cookies! Bake a sweet treat with their loved ones! This great recipe uses wheat (unbleached flour), honey and (sugarbeet) sugar!

Here are some MAITC lessons that incorporate those agricultural commodities!
