A Unique Public/Private Partnership

Minnesota Department of Agriculture

Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation

Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC) has a long-standing working relationship with the state's agriculture and education communities. Established in 1985, the program exists as a unique public/private partnership between the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and the MAITC Foundation. While program staff is based at the Department, funds to allow for the development, printing and marketing of educational materials and programs are raised and managed by the Foundation. This successful collaboration has garnished the program important credibility and continuity within the state's education community while consistently being able to offer free educational resources to a myriad of audiences wanting to immerse themselves in learning about agriculture, food and natural resources.
